LUTHERANS
BELIEVE..
...that
there is one true God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
who has been revealed to us through the Holy Scriptures and the
Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper;
...that
Christ, who is the Son of God, by his suffering and death on the
cross, paid for all our sins and reestablished us in a right relationship
with God;
...that
salvation is not earned nor merited by anything we do but is a gift
from God given to those who believe that God sent his Son to die
for us;
...that
we show our love and thankfulness to God for his immeasurable gift
by praising him and dedicating our lives to his service, working
in and through his church that we might be a blessing to others
and bring glory to his name.
THE LORD'S SUPPER
The
Lord's Supper is offered every Saturday night and Sunday we come together to worship.
The
Lord's Supper is open to all baptized Christians who repent of their
sins and believe that we receive the true presence of the body and
blood of Christ in, with, and under the forms of bread and wine
and that these elements are given to us by God for the forgiveness
of our sin. Those who have not yet received instruction are welcome
to come to the communion rail for a blessing.
The
Sacrament is distributed at a "continuous table," with the ushers
indicating when each row is to come forward. Communion cards are
found in the pew racks and may be handed to an usher at that time.
If
it is difficult for you to kneel at the Communion rail, please feel
free to stand as you receive the elements. If you are unable to
come to the Communion rail and desire to receive Communion in the
pew, please let the ushers know to inform the pastors. Each Communion
tray has 4 glasses of clear grape juice in the center.
